I have a set of M-Audio Studiophile LX4 2.1 Studio Monitors. They are powered speakers. My question is this...can you run a poweramp directly into the inputs of a powered sub? Would unplugging the sub from the wall outlet make this work? I have somebody interested in buying them, and they need that questioned answered, and I don't know. I have always just connected them from the soundcard of my computer, or a USB or Firewire Audio Interface.

So basically what I need to know is if this will work.... Output of Power Amp ---> Input of Subwoofer ---> Satellites connected to sub via speaker wire ---> Would nice sound come out?? Thanks in advance.

No, they are powered speakers, why would you want to do this? If he wants to use external power he needs passive speakers.

Why on earth do you want to use an amped woofer channel with a powered woofer? Do you like the smell of smoke from blown speaker amps?

OK. Thanks, I honestly didn't know (never had the situation come up...and now I'm VERY glad). Thanks again.
