I'm looking for an entry level gaming PC. My gaming tastes run to Sims 2 with all the expansion packs and various city builder games. I'll probably be getting Sim City Societies when it comes out.
I am looking at two avadirect builds.

My original budget was $1000-1100 and as you can see I have gone over that with either. Is there anything on there that is overkill for my needs? Is there anything I really need but am missing? I understand core 2 duos are better for gaming but is the difference worth the cost (and the month and a half additional wait to save up for it) considering the games I play? As far as future upgrading my comfort level is to add memory or a better video card and I'd probably be willing to add a second video card in SLI in a couple of years if that seems like the better option at the time but I don't feel comfortable with anything beyond that.
