Hey Guys, perhaps you've seen my troubles with the Aria Card reader in the forums. Apparently Antec agrees that my card reader is fudged, but since I bought the case from someone in the forums they refuse the warranty. They allow me to buy it from spare parts but I'm guessing that is going to be a ludicrously large sum of money.

Since I've heard many take theirs out for modding. Is there anyone willing to sell theirs?

Thanks guys.

And yes FLECOM, I know this is in the wrong forum, but these guys here don't always read the for sale/trade forums.

That's lame. What is the point of a warranty if you don't back up your product? Who cares how many hands it has been through! If it's a manufacturer's defect, they should be obligated to fix it.

Good luck man, I'm sure you won't have too much trouble finding one. Sounds like alot of people aren't using the card readers. (unfortunately I'm not one of them or I'd hook you up ;) )

That's what I thought. It turns out it was bought in december, so it wasn't even a month old when I got it. Though it was the customer support supervisor who emailed me back. I guess it must have been in discussion over in their support department.

I'm not sure if it is the card reader but I'd like it to work. Everytime I reboot the thing you have a 50/50 of it disappearing and becoming an "Unknown Device" in device manager. I guess it must be a bad cable or bad chip on the card reader.

you do know they shipped a driver disk with the case just for the card reader right?
I would guess if it was something XP could just sense, they would not have shipped one.
So my question to you is, do you have or have you installed these drivers and could the
lack of them be the reason it is not recognizing consistantly in the device manager? Just a thought...

My CD says "Windows 98/98SE/2000". The manual itself says there is no driver needed for XP. There is a driver for XP for it hidden on the disc, but you can't get it to install onto the "unknown device" because it says "this driver does not contain information on your hardware".

If you get it to install when it does detect it, it will say "The driver could not be installed because registry does not have the proper information for this hardware". That was a new message for me for sure

And yes, I've reinstalled windows and my 20 games 3 times already
