I am looking to add another 512MB of ram to my system (I have 512 right now).

I built this PC like 2 years ago, and my ram is either PC2100 or PC2700 Samsun DDR RAM.

I need to add the exact same type of RAM, correct? How do I figure out exactly what kind I have?
 
What you could do is find out up to what kind of RAM your mobo supports, and place in RAM that is equal to what your mobo can handle or lower.
