Alright I want to buy a new case becuase some of these look aswome but I why i posted was is it hard to take out all the componets in my comp and switch it to the new one? or is it better to take it to like best buy or something

BLASPHEMY! Let you never speak of best buy and handling computers again!

Everyone has a nerd friend, go find yours and make him do it or learn how to yourself.

Most name brand computers like Dell, HP, Compaq, ect. all use proprietary components and the wires running from the case to the motherboard are the biggest hurdle you will probably encounter. Everything else should transfer out of the name brand case and into an aftermarket case, but you will definately need to do some research as to what wire goes to what pin to make your power button, reset switch, and case LED's work.

Oh.....one last thing before I submit this reply........never again are you to suggest letting the smacktards at Best Buy do any work to your computer. We do not allow such behavior here. :p

Alright no more bestbuy but my comp is not namebrand I have a pretty cool case right now but i broke the swinging door thing that hides the power button a drive bays. Would I have to take all the memory, video card out of mobo before i put it in the new case? should i go with a 420wat power or higher?

Make sure you have a semi-tall case. I tryed to transfer thing out of an emachines to another micro-atx case and the pcu heatsink would hit the cd drive bay. If you transfer all bits to the new case ( including the power switch , you should be ok. learn to do your own mods. I will not even buy rounded cables, I do my own. I hate best buy, I had to go with my dad because he had to het a grip of coax cable yesterday, we were in line for more than 30 min while some kid at the register tryed to sell an extended warr. to someone on there new hp crap box.

If you do try it yourself.....go slow. Pay attention to how things are as you pull them apart, like are the pin headers for leds marked etc? If you have room and don't trust yourself to reapply heat transfer compound, you could leave the cpu on the mobo when transfering. Just be careful not to put pressure on it. Pull all the cards out. It's a snap to put them in anyway. Last but not least...stay grounded. Either slap the metal chassis of the case before touching components or where an anti static wrist strap.

remember to slap LIGHTLY... wouldnt want a broken motherboard ;)

yeah dont bother with best buy, you'll be spending way too much money.

its really as easy as pie, comeputers are more like legoes than you would think, just take em apart, put em back together (easy enough as most things only fit into one type of slot) and it should all be working in the end.

just mind your master/slave hard drive cables and you'll be great
