Ok ive been browsing 3 different forums trying to see what motherboard would be good for what I want to do. Basically im just building a 2nd gameing computer and this will be my first matx computer. I've come up with this spec list so far and was kind of wanting some insight if I could do better or if its fine the way it is.

Shuttle SD37P2 V2 barebones
Intel core 2 extreme x6800
ATI radeon x1950 xtx
1gb ddr2 (only temporary)
120gb sata hd (brand new and laying around)

Let me know your thoughts.

well if you want a new mobo ur gonna have to leave the shuttle behind. and the best mobo for cd2 is going to be the Abit IT-90HD.

yeah was reading about that it looks promising. Guess it could use my other components just would need to find a case and powersupply.

You can do a few things.

If you want to get the Shuttle then this comes with a propriatary mobo and can't be replaced.

The Shuttle SD37p2 V2 is a good case though and OCs well.

If you want to go with something that is kinda portable and you can easily upgrade then go with something like the LANBOX with abit mobo. You also have the Micro Fly, and a many other matx box choices :)

Idk I guess i'll just see the abit board goes. I didn't know that you couldn't use a different board in a shuttle box. I read 3/3/07 for the release date on it dont know if thats true. Although I will have to say this combo looks promising then.

Thermaltake LANBOX VF1000SWA
Abit IT-90HD.
X2 550W PSU - Titanium
Intel core 2 extreme x6800
ATI radeon x1950 xtx
1gb ddr2 (only temporary)
120gb sata hd (brand new and laying around)

I just got a LANBOX SWA today for review and I actually love the case. The handle is great and the case appears to be one of the best cases for lanning...we will see how the tests pan out.

It is more expensive at $119 but thats because it is all aluminum I suppose. The release date is Monday it looks like (lets hope they stop pushing it back).

well thanks for the help I think thats what im going to be getting. Should be a nice WoW gameing comp for work hehe.
