Hi there guys,

I need help. I am looking to buy three monitors to use with eyefinity (btw does nvidia have anything equivalent?). I am looking for 3 affordable IPS or better panels in the 21" and up range.

I'm looking for the best bang for the buck as I don't have a lot to spend on these.

Thank you!

People can go on and on all day long concerning monitors, just go somewhere and buy 3 monitors that you like and be done with it...imho anyways... that's what i did

If you wait for Dell coupons/sales, I believe the u2211h (21.5 inch 1080p e-ips) gets down to near 200USD sometimes? This is the cheapest I can think of for an IPS type solution. The monitors also have native displayport inputs, so you save on the active adapter (around $100 I think, haven't really looked into Eyefinity).

Nvidia has its new Surround System, but it requires you use SLI, but you do not have the need for displayport.

No don't.

Eyefinity will require you to have a monitor with native Display Port connectors, otherwise you have to buy an adapter.

All the monitors have to go on one card with Eyefinity. So no, you can't get a second card to avoid the Display Port adapter (thought there is increased performance in crossfire).

For bezel management, the monitors either need to be the same, or have the same bezel width.

great, thanks. I have been looking at the U2211h, does that seem to be the best priced IPS panel? thanks again

No problem, thought I should also add,

If you look on the cards, you will see an HDMI, 2 DVI, and a DP connections. The third monitor MUST be connected to the DP. The HDMI channel is shared with the DVI, so when you use one or the other, the other is disabled/inactive. No DVI+DVI+HDMI, has to be either DVI+DVI+DP or DVI+HDMI+DP.

;)

One of the monitor must be used thru a Displayport. These monitor are not cheap. Or get a active displayport adapter and those cost $100. Yes, I say ACTIVE. Then the other two can be combination of DVI or HDMI.
