Need Advice on Folding program

Okay, here is the skinny.

On my system, I use a program called Process Lasso (PL), which keeps programs from taking over and snagging all of the CPU for themselves while it sidelines the others from any cycles.

So I need to know what specific process I need to give limits to in order to keep the FAH running, but not keep my other processes from doing what they need to keep my really lame old system from tweaking out and locking up and making me hard shutdown.

This is why I am buying, as funds allow, the parts to do an upgrade to my system. :) More
powerful setup = better performance at home and a better return for the FAH program.

The processes I see in my PL window are as follows:
FAHClient.exe
FahCore_a4.exe
FAHCoreWrapper.exe

To my best understanding, and from the readings in PL, the FahCore_a4.exe would seem to be the best one to give the best space to for it to function, as it periodically hits the 80+% for CPU percentage, but it can hover around 60+% as well.

Am I on the correct track or am I all wet?

Best Regards,

fahcore_a4 is the one you want to use. depending on how good the program is at auto detecting when it starts and stops it should work. since fahcore_a4 closes when the WU finishes and re-opens when a new WU starts. you should be seeing a 100% load though no matter what with the core.

Well it will be FahCore* that does the actual calculations. My uniprocessor clients get either an FahCore_a4.exe WU or a FahCore_a3.exe.

You should probably allow all the Fah* processes limitless access to your processing power. It has built in functions to be able to limit how much of the CPU it uses and other features.

Thanks to sirmonkey1985 AND Skillz!!

That was exactly what I needed to be sure of in this matter. Will put the fix in place.

Vielen Danke!! (Much thanks in Deutsch - German)
