I've been shopping around for a multi-interface external enclosure to pair with a nice 500GB Sata II HDD (just got a couple of new Samsung ones from NewEgg). So far, these are my favorites:
#1, OWC Mercury Elite-AL Quad Interface
#2, CoolGear Quad Interface Super Combo (for more pictures, go here).
#3, G Tech G-Drive Q
I really like the looks and rock-solid build quality from the first one from OWC, but I'm looking for an enclosure that has a black finish, so I'm still thinking about it. I may go with it and have it refinished or something (I have a friend that does very nice custom painting jobs for cars, so there's always that option
).
The CoolGear enclosure looks good and they offer it in both silver and black, but I've never seen a CG enclosure , so I don't know much about their quality. If anybody has checked them out before, please post your experiences.
Finally, the G-Drive Q is my favorite one (specially the fan-less design) BUT they don't sell it without a HDD and I don't feel like overpaying for an extra one.
Thanks in advance for your input
