Need advice for surround headset / mic for specific gaming setup

Hi all,

I'm looking for a solution for a fairly specific problem, and am willing to change my setup or buy new equipment if required.

I occasionally play games on my PC, xbox 360, and PS3. When playing PC games I'll use Skype to talk to buddies.

I currently send digital output from my PS3 / 360 to a Pioneer SE-DHP800 which I bought about three years ago and am very fond of. It uses Dolby Headphone DSP to simulate surround, and for my purposes seems to do a pretty good job at it.

The problem is that since it doesn't have a mic included, I need to find another audio input device from around the house to use when playing online games. I've tried using a webcam for PC and a bluetooth headset I got for my phone when using PS3. I'll use a piece of wire to attach the bluetooth headset to my headphones and use that for input. This is a nuisance though, and bluetooth devices are a pain when having to pair them with different devices as I switch tasks.

When I use my webcam as input, it creates a nasty wooping feedback loop, even when only playing sounds out of my headphones.

So what I'm interested in is something that will either:
a) replace my Pioneer SE-DHP800 but also include a mic. I've seen a few headsets, but am not sure which will work with the PS3, and which ones have decent surround. I know there are some with multiple drivers, and some which use DSP other than Dolby Headphone. Is there anything better than Dolby Headphone at this point?

b) act as an input device but still allow me to do what I'm doing now, and just place it on my lap or attach it to my headphones. I thought about just buying a regular USB mic for this, but not sure if all such mics would work with the PS3.

To summarize, whichever device I choose will ideally work with PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Thanks in advance for any opinions and advice.

360 - you can use any 2.5mm cell phone mic. I used to use a clip-on cell phone mic, and then set the voices to route to the speakers (or in my case, headphones).
PS3 - doesn't any bluetooth headset/mic work?
PC - use a mic of your choice

Basically I think you should just use 3 different Mics.

Thanks.

I can do what you describe, but I'd like all the mics to be wireless (not a 2.5mm wired for xbox).

Ideally I'd only have one or two mics (or an entire headset with mic).

If you have three separate mics, you end up having to charge each one every time you use it. The reason is that most batteries don't hold a charge very long when not in use. At least that's my experience when using devices with integrated batteries.

I don't have that problem with my pioneer headset because it uses standard AA batteries, and I use Eneloops which hold their charge for a very long time.
