I cant think, my new chieftec full tower (in silver, i guess the black and silver are now outta stock) should arrive tomorow and i cant think of a window idea

I can make a regular square window, but i kinda wanna keep the side panel fan since i dont have a hole saw to cut a hole in the window, and i will probly crack the window with my dremel so i dunno

I dont really wanna make a square window since everyone has one, i want somethin different, that shows alot of the computer

Anyone with ideas, can you take this pic, in photo shop

and make a design. By using the eraser you erase the side panel and can see the insides, heres the square one i made

But man that would take a big ass piece of acrylic so i dunno
 
I think bringing in the edges would be a good start. Not only will it give you more case with which to mount the window, but it will also make it look better. You could also bring the top of the window down. You could get a window cut for a mid-size chieftec and simply mount it. You still show off what you want to show off, and you could do something else with the top. That also leads to the idea of having two windows. Go nuts, why not three or four. See what you like and go with it.

The fan can be glued onto the window/side (silicon adhesive, etc...) to eliminate any fan screw holes. Oh, and I would also remove the black grill on the fan.
 
ya im taking out the grills, thats nice, but i hate flames hehe, i used to like em but now i hate it on cars and all that stuff

anyways i got the case, havent taken it out yet but man it is frickin HUGE
 
heheh, to each their own. :) I think flames can look amazing if they are done right. Done wrong or sloppy, they can ruin a case...

the lcd i have is green though, gonna cut the door and the fins at the bottom and put some mesh, since the fins block ALOT of airflow
 
Thats pretty sweet. I've been thinking about replacing the inset part of the door with mesh on my chieftec too. What size mesh are you going to use? And the lcd is pimp, my next case will probably recieve a PSOne lcd modded for RGB.
 
not sure, i havent really looked at it, i just know we have it, its not any metal strong mesh just some plastic stuff (maybe a fence type mesh)

ya the lcd is just gonna say stuff and il probly get a ps1 lcd to put in 3 5.25 bays

I have the Antec version of the case. I made a kida rounded window that wraps around the handle and it looks great, I'll try and fin d a decent pic to post.
 
pilotman2004, do a mock up of one with 3 or 4 rip (claw )marks. that should save the fan & look pretty cool also. I have no photoshop skills or I would try :)

Where are you saying the claw marks should go? And do you mean modify my 3rd drawing, or make them look like actual claw marks?

one thing, i dont have a64, or intel i got axp, but i may upgrade to a64 over the summer and i dunno if ill get a new case

That might just work on my, just just the old school logo, not the a64 part. Thanks for the idea though. Been tryin to think of something for my case. Keep em coming.
 
If you take that AMD case to lan partys, they should pay you (For advertising there CPU) :p

Well Bboy_Jon, all modding really envolves your preferences, so normally you should go with something you like, other people might not like it, but if you are keen with it, well then its perfect.

Like i said i am doing the Amd64 on mine, i got to the 1st part, the traditional AMD logo, now of to the 64, still its very hard due to the "thikness" of the curves, that is they are very thin, so i probably will go with the Laser cut, asking a client of mine how much would it cost.

I know its a bit "allready made" still realy depends on you liking it or not, here is another one:

hehe the only prob with that hl2 window is that its been done many times, and theres already soooo many hl2 mods

You guys know the silver skyline in 2 fast 2 furious, i think blue racing stripes on my silver case would look nice, but ya i dunno

I could make a window thats like a car window? you know what would rock? to give the computer a body kit!!
 
I know what you mean, still the HL2 logo, always looks impressive. and you can work with any other logo's.

I knwo the stripes you mean, still i think it would look better as a paint job than a window.

As for the body kit, i see you are also a car intusiast like me, to do that you need to know how to work really well with fiber glass, there are alot of fiber glass kits and even carbon fiber to work with, still i have tried to do some "pieces" for my car, and is well hard.

I wouldn't go TOO far with a car theme, makes me think of that pre-mod case that looks like it has a BMW grill w/ headlights. Makes me shudder...
Racings stripes would look cool. I can't think of many cases with those. If you wanted to take the racing theme further, you could make your window cutout like a racing number. That would work especially well if you upgraded to an Athlon 64, you could have "64" cut out. Then paint a white box around it for the full racing number effect. Just some more ideas.
 
I'd check your local hardware shop like Home Despot or Lowes, they sell it in sheets. You can also get it online though you would have to pay for shipping.
 
man too bad they don;t sell this case anymore that's got some nice hight to it and the price was OH SO NICE
 
ya the height is very nice

ok whats the best place i should get all my modding stuff i need (my dad was like, i hope this is the last thing you order, save ure money, he was talking about the case) and so im gonna buy one more time so i need everything at once

Ok what i need to get are probly 120mm fans and some grills, maybe some 80's with leds, some drill bits for metal, some dremel discs, and some case handles, maybe evena multifunction panel
