Hey guys..thnx for the suggestion in the other thread ...I decided on the fortron 500w and the dvd burner instead of an expensive antec :) Now, I need another suggestion..I just went over to my cousin's house and found an old pentium 3 box in the back...and it has everything besides a powersupply..Now I need one that I can quickly pick up @ a local store for like under 20 bucks.... I found one here @ compusa for 20 bucks..will this do?

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=283771&pfp=cat3

anyone find any cheaper one that I can find @ a local store? thnx.

I just found an old Delta 185W Power supply from my old HP P3 system I can send you for cheap. PM me if you like.

If it's a P3 and you don't mind if it blows up, get a cheap one from a local computer store.

I'm lucky enough to live within driving distance of SVC. No shipping for me.

MicroCenter is selling the Vigor 400 for $19.99 right now if you happen to have a center by you.

I wouldn't run those MGE Vigors in anything, let alone a P3 system. A cheap FSP supply would be great in that.

ahhhhhh good news..hehe...my bro is giving me his emahine comp...the one that is equipped with an athlon xp 3200+/geforce4 mx400 64mb/ 512mb ram/ dvd burner.. etc etc etc...
which he wants my sony tv for a trade..he doesn't need the comp anymore....soooooo....
my birthday next two week or so...

i buy my new psu...put it in my main rig..take the one on the emachine...throw it in the pentium 3 rig...throw my current antec 450w smartpower in the emachine..and I am happy :)

Don't ever buy a CompUSA brand PSU because they're made by several different companies. They list FMI as the manufacturer, but it's just a distributor and gets its products from another distributor, Four Star, which told me that the PSU manufacturer varies from week to week, and that particular week they were made by Win-Tact, a very good company that also supplies PC Power & Cooling. But I've seen many that were made by Leadman, which produces junk like RaidMax and PowMax.
