the exhaust fan in my Sparkle/Fortron PSU grenaded today... i opened up the PSU expecting an easy replacement but it turns out that the standard 80x80x25mm fan won't fit... the stock fan was more like 80x80x20mm

i need suggestions as to what fan to get that will fit... it also needs to be quiet (~20db, ~2000rpm at most) i always use Panaflo L1As but in this case one won't fit..

also, if you could reccommend a retailer that would sell it? if they also sell cheap Panaflos, that would be a bonus since i need to restock on those as well :D

thanks.

yeah, i looked at that one already, and almost bought it before I realized it only runs at 1400 rpm when using the 5v adapter that ships with the fan... i need to plug this into the PSU fan header which gives a variable voltage up to 12V when fully hot... so the fan would run at 2800RPM, and something like 40dB when at 12V... thats too loud for my tastes

your asking for to much... slim 80 mm fans are rare, quiet ones even more so.. now you want thermistor on it

nah, i don't want a thermistor on it... the PSU controls the speed of the fans based on a built in thermistor... the fan just needs to run at a max of ~2000rpm when at full voltage (12v) to avoid noise

i'll try to look into the thin panaflos, thanks!

Panaflo makes an 80x15mm, but I don't know of any resellers that stock it.

2cooltek has it for $12/each... daym i'm spoiled by the $4 panaflos, cause that seems like a LOT of money for a fan... still looking, but at least i have a possible buy!
