need a stable ati driver

Nothing ever seems to get fixed in the latest drivers. Is there a very stable driver for HD 5870? I'm always getting a blue screen while watching a video and playing a game with dual monitors. Always having problems with dual monitors. Also their "overdrive" doesn't clock correctly. Very upset with these drivers ATI keeps rolling out.
 
Does this issue only happen in Dual Screen?

I haven't have issue / BSOD with dual screen since 5870.....
 
ColdCrow, try creating a profile in CCC, and edit the xml file, it c:\users\local\appdata\ or whatever that folder is again, you'll find the profile file there, just edit it with notepad and set the memory clock to 1200 mhz. See if you still bluescreen.

But yeah, I got so fed up with my 5870 and I bought a GTX 460, my card might be faulty, but I still had lots of other driver related problems. Running dual monitors, to get rid of flickering and such I had to use that profile "trick" and set my minimum memory clock to 1200, as the trouble is caused by the memory clock being too low. Damn power saving feature.
 
- use driver cleaner
- install the latest drivers minus the CCC
- Don't overclock

Still have issues? Uninstall the app that is actually causing the issue. You can start by making sure steam, xfire, fraps, livestream, ati tray or anything else with an overlay isn't running.

Thanks! I will try this. Yeah I'm fed up with my 5870 too. Yes its powerful but I get flickering with the dual monitors in "overdrive". The clocks are so messed up. :mad:
 
Use atiwinflash and RBE, get a copy of your stock BIOS, edit so your minimum clocks are the same as your 3D/performance clocks, and minimum voltages are the same as your 3D/performance voltages. No more flicker. Not that much more power draw. You might idle 20w higher, not a big deal considering the trade-off.
