Need a SCSI /w Raid Card

I need a SCSI /w raid controller card. I can only find Adaptec making these but there are so many models that I'm lost. Basically, I want a 320 capable SCSI card to set up a Raid 0. Can someone point me in the right direction here?

Can't do PCI-X btw.

PCI-X is backwards compatible, so is U320, U160 ect

what PCI slot do you have?
32bit 33MHz
32bit 66MHz
64bit 66MHz

what is your stripe width going to be? (# of HDDs)

more than likely U320 is going to be sheer overkill
extra bandwidth you couldnt possibly touch with the apps you'd run
(or bandwidth your PCI slot wont even allow you to access)

U160 might be a much better choice for a RAID card

do you have other SCSI devices (CDR, Tape Drive?)

LSI Logic U320
LSI Logic U160

Plenty of Mylex AcceleRAID cards floating around for a good price. Not necessarily what you are looking for. They have LSI chipsets, btw. I'd stay away from Adaptec unless you had deep pockets or access to thei NFR program.

Ice Czar is right though, if you don't have 64bit PCI or PCI-X (which we have confirmed), you really won't be able to utilize the capabilities of the array. Ultra160 would be much better and less expensive. Then again, is it okay to ask why you want to do this?
 
it hardly takes anything to max out a 32\33 using a wide enough stripe :p

In that case, the head will have to skip reading e.g. LBA #1 (as shown above) but since it is necessary for all further transfers, the drive will have to wait one full rotational latency to "get back to business as usual". During this artificially imposed latency, the cache can be emptied by outputting the data to the system bus"
