Loking for a regular ATX PSU, fully modular, no more than 500w, no more than $70. What you got? Yes, FULLY MODULAR.

I know I asked in another thread but might as well ask again: By fully modular, you mean that even the 24Pin ATX power cable is removable?

yes, exactly. and as for the other thread... I am pretty sure it wasn't one of mine. I'd hope that I'd remember if you were asking questions on a thread that I had made.

Off the top of my head, I can only think of two fully modular that are worth a crap: Ultra X3/X4 and SilverStone. Both are out of your price range. :D

Yeah, modular always costs more...fully modular is rare and costs plenty.

Ultra X4 500W is $100

Well I'm trying to step down for my WHS mATX build from a Silverstone Strider ST85F... maybe I should just keep it? It's just more than I need, is all... by A LOT

Well.. what are you powering? Ultra actually has a fully modular uATX PSU if you're not going to be pushing too much.

If you don't need FULLY modular, go with the 520W Seasonic M12II.

Intel P45 board, Q6600 @ 3.0GHz, 4GB of RAM, low end video (maybe even just 8MB PCI), 6x SATA BDROM/HD-DVD/DVD-R/W drive, 4x 3.5" and 4x 2.5" and I do REALLY need fully modular. build will be inside my Lan-Gear Da Box 100

Again, if you don't need FULLY modular, how bout the Antec NeoPower 550? It's on a shellshocker deal at Newegg for $49.99 with free shipping. I'll let the PSU gurus chime in on whether it's worthy or not.

might just keep my ST85F, with this kind of feedback. not looking very promising to find alternatives below what I can sell this one for.

That would be your best plan, besides it is already paid for.

anyone know which is the correct short cable set (for mATX) for this unit. I have a PP03 and a PP05 set... but I want to make sure that I use the right one, because they're pinned differently and don't want to fry anything.

edit: nevermind... google-fu to the rescue. pp03 is the correct short set for this unit.
