I currently have a 380 watt Antec smartpower psu that is really quiet. However, I can currently only run a couple hard drives, but I have 2 more hd's that I can use. If I plug in anymore drives my computer won't boot. Can anyone recommend a new psu that will handle my specs and still be really quiet? I was thinking of a 500 watt Antec smartpower, but was wondering if even that was enough.

Seasonic S12 430 should be plenty. No Fuhjyyu capacitors either, it's b uilt to last, and it's very silent. If you want even more drives, try the S12 500.

No way, especially for that.

And, out of spec ripple, and better choices all around, make this one that I'm not recommending.

I think the Seasonic S12 Energy Plus SS-550HT would be a great choice. It has the amperage he needs, is of the highest quality and supper quiet. He can not go wrong with it.
