Need a nice LCD Around 400 bucks

Hey,
My mom wants a new LCD screen. She is not going to be using it for games..... Her budget is $400 maybe a little more. Please tell me your recommendations... Also, wheres the best place to buy it .

Unlike their CRTs, Acer actually made good LCDs. It's 17", 24-bit truecolor, not any of that 18-bit dithered 16.2M color crap, 16ms Hydis panel, 450:1 contrast. I find it a lot better than many $500 screens overall. Note that it has crap for ergonomics (it tilts forward and back... that's it).

ummm, the 1801FP (18" LCD) can be had for somewhere around $400 and some change at certain times when Dell's having one of their crazy sales.

I know this cuz the cheapest I ever bought an 1801FP was something like $379 but obviously that was a rare situation but most of the time I'd average somewhere in the $400 to $420-ish area for an 1801FP delivered.

Wow thats a good deal. Are those Ultra Sharp series. The Ultra Sharps are the better ones.
