Well Finally made up my mind in which direction im going on my upgrade.

This said I have the PCPC 750 watter that is getting to the 3 year mark and this is one thing I usually keep up to date

What it will power

Q9300
Mobo
8 gig DDR2
2x ATI 4870's

Maybe a sound card

So what do you guys think. I dont OC at all ( though I may or may not if I can find a heatsink to cool this Quad good.... this scyth is not doing the job anymore sadly )

So something that is budget and not overkill. I also live in an older building so mhhhh putting a 1600 watter is probually not feasible

Should still be enough power. No need to buy a new PSU.

im more worried about the age of it.... hence the reason Im looking into buying a new one or else I could just buy the same brand again

Well the same PSU is only $100 from amazon.com:
PC Power & Cooling S75CF 750W PSU - $100

But considering that the PC P&C Silencer 750 is a quality and well built PSU, I highly doubt the PSU has aged to the point where it's unusable for your needs.

so if I do get the same brand at this wattage it should be more than enough to power the 2 4870's?

Well as long as the PSU (regardless of brand) has the same amperage (60A on the +12V rail) and wattage (around 750W), it should be enough to power two HD4870 cards.

yeah I have not figured out how to figure out what is needed for amps on stuff like this... all these years and I have not done it yet... all I know is that Amps are a good thing and cant never have to much.
