Hi all. I'm FINALLY getting around to rebuilding my Norco system. I'm currently using two el-cheepo Supermicro cards with two headers each, but I'd like to replace them with one card with four headers. Something like this:

Six headers would be ideal, but once you go past four, prices start to skyrocket.

Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? It doesn't have to be a fancy RAID card, as I'll just be running Windows 10 with Storage Spaces. Thanks in advance.

Consider the IBM 1015, goes on ebay around $80-100, it can be flashed to IT mode, im running two on my server and no issues for couple of years.

Best out of the box HBA is an LSI 9207 as it comes without raid (IT mode per default)

I agree about the LSI 9207. It is an up to date card, super speed, reliable and easy to install. I highly recommend it.

I researched the 9207 and it seems like it's only a two-header card. The 1015 looks to be the same. Are there any 4 header variants?

I'm a consolidation junkie, which is why I'm aiming for a single card solution. The Norco won't be fully populated (at least, not anytime soon), so a 4-header card along with the motherboard's ports will be fine.

I know LSI/Avago is well respected around here (Adaptec seems to've fallen out of favor), so I was looking at this small beast:

It's a refresh of the 9201-16i with full PCI-E 3.0 12 GB/s support and four SFF8643 connectors. Here's the product page:

It'll be paired with this motherboard:

This will be the boot device (if anyone's interested):
