Need a new gaming Headset

My headset is dying and I need a replacement so I figured I'd see what everyone here thought.

I wasn't something with decent sound, skylight am far from being an audiophile and my hearing really sucks so to end gear would be a waste, although I use voice chat a lot so want something good for that.

What I do want is something that is great at blocking out ambient noise such as the TV or my wife talking in the phone in the same room.

Another important thing for me is good positional audio for shirts and such.

Finally I don't have a soundcard and thus will use either onboard audio or a usb headset.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

What kind of budget do you have?

I would suggest picking up a desktop mic (I have the same one and it still works great after 6 years of use) and a pair of closed-ear headphones.

Getting a desktop mic and a pair of headphones really opens up your choices on good headphones. As far as what headphones to suggest, can't really say without getting a budget.
