Hey, it's been a while since I bought a new game (like emmm4-5 years?) and I was looking for any suggestions on some newer games. I play CS and Diablo mostly, and War3. Anything like these would be good =] (shooter, RPG's)

*I refuse to pay monthly charges :)
 
If you like Diablo, try Titan Quest. Its just the same, and one of the best Diablo clones out there IMO. FPS's - try Bioshock, F.E.A.R. and Battlefield 2.
 
RPG - Titan Quest/Neverwinter Nights 2
FPS - Orange Box/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
RTS - World in Conflict/Company of Heroes/Dawn of War

i tried a battlefield game once but I didn't like it because of the bouncing of the weapons when you move.
 
hmm could someone please tell me a bit more about titan wars? how similar is it to diablo? What I'd like is basicly the exact same gameplay as diablo but longer with moore options

If all you've played is CS and Diablo for this long, is it going to be possible for you to go to a different game? I mean I could suggest like 100 games I think are fantastic, but knowing CS players, I know its hard for them to move onto different games. You already don't like BF2 just because the weapons move around. Well, at least you weren't like a Starcraft player, those guys are even worse.

Team Fortress 2 might be to your liking, its no CS, but its got a Half-Life feel to it still, so you may like that.

Hellgate: London unfortunately is going to be pay-to-play after all, so I guess that won't be any good.
 
Well actually tbh I havn't been playing diablo that long, I bought a few months ago and have loved it. The reason I want a newwer game is because Diablo is dated, and it seems a pity to play it as I just built a new comp. Yea I know it's sort of a cs thing about the gun moving about, but it just really bugs me =P. But a game similar to cs would be cool =], also I really like leveling sort of games ( I play cs 1.6 with war3 mod)

Empire Earth
Empire Earth Expanion
Battlefront 2
and a few online games


The problem is that since I have played so few recent games, the review sites don't help much because there are billions of them.

I've actually never played that and was looking into it :rolleyes:



Basicly though, it's my birthday in a couple weeks so I was just going to get a small pile of games (can't really think of anything else, so if there is anything cool gadget wise or something let me know)

Titan Quest is a better-looking Diablo 2.
 
If you like Diablo you will likely love Titan Quest. Also for an RTS Company of Heroes gets my vote for one of the best games ever. For FPS Half Life 2 and HL2 EP 1 or get the Orange box it has it all. Theres just too many games out there that are good and fun.

So does the Orange Box contain HL2, Ep 1, and Ep 2? I'm not sure if I need the base releases or not first.
 
orange box comes with HL2, HL2 Ep 1, HL2 EP2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal
 
So Oblivion or Titan?

oh nm didn't realie oblivion was 1 player

so are there any other good alternatives to titan, im downloading the demo right now =)
 
If you want a kick ass RPG may I recommend Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Still love that game.Starcraft is also a blast to play still.

If you want a shooter/RPG try Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. It was an underrated game because of its many glitches, but now there are several patches, both official and unofficial, that makes it one of the best games I've played.

A few more games I really like:
For RTS/Turn based try Rome: Total War or Medieval II: Total War.
For a turn based conquer the galaxy game get Galactic Civilizations 2.

I think both Rome and GC2 have gold editions out that include their expansion packs so that's usually a good deal.
