1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

Mostly web browsing, home work

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

$700

3) Where do you live?

Mississippi (USA)

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.

I am going to need everything, from the kb/mouse to the power cord. Starting with nothing.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Not reusing anything.

6) Will you be overclocking?

If it will give me better performance for cheaper price, yes I can over clock. Defiantly not scared, just want it to be stable.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?

I'd like to get something in the 22" range. Not smaller than 19"

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

Within' the end of March.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.

Do not "need" any specific features.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?

No, will be needing one. Prefer Windows XP if it's still available, if not then Win7.

You're better off just buying a prebuilt machine for your needs. Also, is the 22" display included in the budget?

Yes it is. I'd much rather just build it myself, not a real big fan of manufactured computers. I do not think I'll be able to get a 22" display with my budget, but a 19" would be fine. I also want it to have room to upgrade later, such as getting a good video card for gaming; it's just not a top priority right now. Like I said, the main thing that it will be used for is just web browsing.

One thing it MUST have is wireless network capabilities, this does not have to be included with the budget. Wireless G.

Heh, for your needs, HG is right, a prebuilt dell deal or similar would be your best option. My cousin recently bought a Dell Vostro 220 w/ E7500, 250GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Win7 Premium, 21.5" 1080P LCD, and DVDRW for $510 shipped; comes with a 305W PSU, so he added a 9600GT for some light gaming. Another cousin of mine got a similar deal a few years ago, when the chip was an E4500, 250GB, 2GB, Vista Premium, 22" LCD, DVDRW for around the same price, $480 shipped. The parts vary, as well as the price, but the Vostro 220 is typically available for $400 - $500 shipped. Great deal if you need everything: the tower, kb/mouse, monitor, and OS.

Though, if you build, HG has a nice build goin there for you. If you're a student, check with your university to get a discount on Win7.

I really want a case that I can build from, not a Dell (or other manufacturer) propriety bs case that most of them use these days...later down the road a bigger video card and better psu will be installed for some gaming i am sure, but its not a priority right now

and to get the price even lower, i'll probably just get a 250gb hard drive for like 45 bucks

Just spend the extra $10 for this significantly faster drive:
$55 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

The vostro systems I was talking about use standard micro ATX cases and PSUs. Though, I agree, it would be nice to be able to upgrade it if and when you choose; but if you don't see yourself doing so within the next 2-3yrs, I'd say just pickup a cheap dell deal for now and upgrade to a real gaming system if and when you do need one.

I recently sold my friends Vostro 200 system for $300 (got it for $430 shipped in 2007), and he put in another $200 for a new gaming build. Just letting you know your options and sharing my experiences -- not really trying to convince you to do anything. :p ;)

500gb Western Digital $49.99 w/promo code (EMCYNZW27)

Have those drives sped up yet? or are they still 2x250GB platter drives? If still lower density platters, I'd find the F3 or wait for it to get in stock; or grab the 2x320GB WD6400AAKS instead.
