Well, its been 4 years on this old dell 8200 and its time to upgrade. I'm also gonna learn how to overclock with the next build. So I'm buying an opteron 170, or maybe x2 3800?, and am going to put it with these components:

1. Asus a8n32 sli deluxe. I'm seeing alot of DFI boards here, but have heard they are complex. I still gotta learn the basics lol. I'm feeling rather intimidated by it.
Can't decide between these or maybe someone can come up with something better:
2. Corsair xms 2gb kit ddr400 pc3200 dual channel
3. patriot 2gb ddr400 pc3200
4. ocz 2gb ddr400 pc3200 dual channel platinum
5. I've been hearing high praise for G.skill ram on this forum.

5. pc power & cooling 510 sli ready. Maybe ocz powerstream 520 ? Or bigger yet? Will these handle the upcoming cards?

6. wd raptor serial ata150 harddrive

7. video cards still deciding: 7800gtx duallys woot! Or I could get something cheaper/single pci-x and save up for later this coming year. Whadda ya guys think? I'm really up for any opinions on changing anything in this setup. Money is no issue. :D

The reason why people get the DFI boards is because its an OCing monster, however the a8n32 is supposed to be great as well...that is if you can find one.

I would personally go with the OCZ ram, Ive used it and never had any problems. The corsair and g.skill are nice as well.

For your PSU your OCZ one will do you fine, I would like the pc power and cooling psu but they tend to be much more expensive and its not neccessary.
 
Yeah, I like the OCZ psu by the looks of it. Ratings are high too. I'm currently using pc power and cooling in this old dell and a bit pricey. :eek:
