need a motherboard/CPU combo for ~$100

Have a friend who wants to upgrade from a P3 733mhz for about $100, he plays older games and stuff. Maybe find something around 2ghz(or amd equivalent) in some sort of package for cheap I dunno...just lookin for good deals.

its more expensive - but at a later date he can buy an addon card that will enable Athlon 64 upgrade (or if he wants to overclock as this motherboard seems to do that quite well)
I would suggest a touch of "wait and see" to see if the prices fall under his $100 limit.
Instead of eating out once or fast food once or twice plus his $100 he can buy these...

check out this page. there's plenty of options to choose from. if you go socket 754 you can upgrade to a64 with just a cpu purchase.
