 I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows Vista operating system. Trying to add space without having to delete programs. How do I do this???? Wondering if maybe I need an extra C drive.

You could replace the internal hard drive with a larger capacity drive and transfer, or you could use an external hard drive as a supplementary drive. An external hard drive plugs in like a flash drive (via usb) and you can easily get a 1TB capacity drive from newegg for about $90. The external hard drive is an easy and inexpensive solution.

If you upgrade your internal drive, you can get an external enclosure for your old drive. ;)

$7 - IOCell Networks Traveler 251U Aluminum 2.5" Gray USB 2.0 External Enclosure

$58 - WD Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s

You can google for instructions on replacing the drive for your model laptop if you don't know how. You can use a drive image program to clone your current drive to your new drive (WD offers a free limited functionality version of Acronis True Image on their website).
