Hi all,

I'm putting together a core 2 duo system (Intel D975XBX2 "Bad Axe 2" motherboard) within the next few weeks, and I need a little help deciding on the memory.

I'm trying to keep the total cost for the memory beneath $140 for 2 gigs. I'd like to spend less if I can do it without compromising system stability or overall memory performance. Here's a few options that I've been looking at, but I'd love to hear about other options as well:

Super Talent DDR2-667 1GB/64x8 S-RIGID Memory ~$104

Patriot Signature , model#PSD22G667K DDR2 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz CL5 Non-ECC Unb. 240-Pin $95

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) Cas 4 $130

WINTEC AMPO 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 $94

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 $125

GeIL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Cas 4 $135

A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 $125

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 $123AR

CRUCIAL 2GB KIT (1GB x 2) MATCH PAIR PC2-5300 667MHZ CL5 240-PIN DDR2 DIMM ~$115

Which memory would you go with and why?

Mostly, I'm just looking for decent quality ram from a company that will back it up without hassle. Stability and compatibility are important to me. I'm not planning on much, if any, overclocking at this time.

Just for reference, here's some guidelines set by the motherboard manual:

System Memory
The board has four DIMM sockets and supports the following memory features:
• 1.8 V and 1.9 V DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs (Though, according to this, memory voltage can be potentially taken up 2.8V in 0.04V steps in BIOS.)
• Unbuffered, single-sided or double-sided DIMMs with the following restriction:
Double-sided DIMMS with x16 organization are not supported.
• 8 GB maximum total system memory. Refer to Section 2.1.1 on page 49 for
information on the total amount of addressable memory.
• Minimum total system memory: 128 MB
• ECC DIMMs and non-ECC DIMMs
• Serial Presence Detect
• DDR2 800, DDR2 667, and DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM DIMMs

Any advice would be much appreciated.
