Okay... I am sitting here getting ready to order my new computer... and I am thinking about the graphics card. I really really really wanna go with the BFG Geforce 6800GT. NO ONE has the card in.

I have found on place that has the:

XFX nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT Video Card, 256MB GDDR3, 256-Bit, TV-Out/DVI, 8X AGP, Model "PVT40AUA" -RETAIL

How does this one add up to the BFG one... I am not going to be overclocking at all. Oh yea, I could order this one right now, and wouldn't have to wait.

Should I wait for the BFG and let my new computer sit laying in pieces or buy this one and get to put everything together?

Thanks!!!

you think so? I mean... the BFG is already overclocked, and everyone says it is the one to go for.... I have never heard of Xfx.... that is what scares me.

I ordered mine sat. It shipped today.I never bought from gameve and haven't bought an XFX, but hey, if it sux0rs, it sux0rs.

Just kidding, I read quite a few reviews, and no bad press.

do you think there would be a noticeable difference between the xfX and the BFG?

Not if you overclock the XfX to the same clock/mem as the BFG. I think the coolers are stock on both (might be wrong) but u can get aftermarket cooler to fix that.

I am not overclocking... at all. So... with that said, will I notive a difference?

You mean, you will not go into system settings and adjust the memory and clock slider to the BFG speeds? The only difference between the cards is that BFG does this for you before they ship the card. It's not like you have to get the soldering iron or the dremmel tool out or anything...Unless........ ;)

So yeah, if you don't do that, or won't do that, then there is a difference. But I'll be doing it. Oh yeah.. I'll be doing it real quick.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the only difference between the BFG and the xfx is the core clock speed. BFG OCed it to 370.... meanwhile the xfx is at 350.

Is that the only difference ?

its the same card except with different sticker and the bfg is stock overclocked but that could easily be done with downloadable software

yep, as far as I know that's the pwnly difference. Of course, I'll be taking mine right past 370. 400 if she'll do it without glowing cherry red.

Isn't the BFG the one that can not do 1600 x 1200 on a LCD?

there the same cards the partners with nvidia that get the cards dont change anything as far as i know besides the changing the heatsink, color of the board, and like bfg an overclock, then they put there little stick on there cards and sell them
