Hi
Did a search on the forum and did not see any postings for this so I'd thought I'd post the question:

I have inherited 2 Cisco 2950s with 24 x 10/100 and 2 x 1000Base-SX ports. I'll need to get a fibre to add these to the network (I dont want to use just a cross over cable in one of the 100 base ports). The other end will be plugged into a gbic (using a SC connection)

EDIT
I've just found 2 1000Base-SX gbics. So all I need is 1000Base-SX to 1000Base-SX fibre and I'll be sorted.
/EDIT

Does anyone have a link to even the cable I need? I've had a hard time looking and suppliers are clueless. If I am asking for the wrong things then please correct me!

If it is any help the model number of the switch is ws-c2950sx-24.

Thanks in advance

L

Ok, I'm a lil rusty on fiber but the "SX" is transmission type I think. It's not the plug/connector type. I'm guessing it uses SC style connectors so you might need a Gigabit SC to SC multimode patch cable.

Probly need to wait on a second opinion before you make any purchases though.

Any multimode fiber will do. The come in either 62.5 micorn of 50 micron sizes. Just make sure to get the SC connectors on both ends.
