I have a salvaged HP pavilion n5470. This puppy was free and works great except for the heatsink blower fan. It whines and makes oboxious noises. I tired oiling it up a bit, but it seems that the bearings are bad. The fan won't spin anymore. I got another heatsink assembly from ebay and tried its fan. That fan was bad too!

Does anyone know where I can get a laptop blower fan about 40mm (2pin), or does any one have an idea about how to modify another fan to cool this thing down? The only way I can have it running right now is with an oscillating fan blowing on it. I called HP, they don't sell the fan by itself and I've spent all afternoon googling. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! It's a little steep you're right. I found a guy on Ebay who would sell just the fan to me for $10/shipped. That's not too bad. Thanks again!
