A salesperson put my in a bind.

He sold one of my PC's as a rackmount.

I'm now looking for a 2U or 3U (2U preferred) that I can migrate all of my warez over to.

I don't need card slots or riser cards as I'm using a microATX motherboard with EVERYTHING on board. I need accomodation for two hard drives, one optical and maybe a floppy.

Naturally, I would like a power supply with it too. :p

Any links would be very appreciated! This thing has to be delivered to me in Tampa, built and turned around and shipped to California by next Thursday and I don't want to invest hundreds in FedEx Overnight shipping. :)

Ive had great luck w\ > http://www.dumpinggoods.com/dumpinggoods/items.asp?CartId=8220258NTLZ-ACCWARE-M160&Cc=CS
whats actually available there changes all the time, but is generally a fraction of retail
they of course dont supply alot of info, so serious research is a must
I gather these are surplus, open box ect
you already know the dangers of Supermicro\Ablecom cable lengths :p

I see an ENLIGHT 2200SX2R 2U SERVER CASE
DG EJ-232 BLACK 2U SERVER CASE

many come with supplies
all Ive bought as far as I could tell where brand new and undamaged in factory boxes

if Im recommending a brandname 2U PSU

hell Zippy is at the top
I-Star, Elan Vital, ect being other common ones

you didnt mention what its requirements are

Ooh!

I'm book marking that page. Thanks!

The CPU is just a 2500+ Barton, so power requirements are minimal. I've been using FSP 300's.

But I found an Antec that fits the bill and my cost is under $240. Comes w/ PSU and uses standard optical/floppy (don't have to go slimline.)

I can't believe I'm looking at Antec as the inexpensive alternative.

Hmm, have you considered getting a 2u or 3u case that will accept a standard ATX supply? I've got a 2u that does, and IIRC most 3u cases do just take a regular sized supply.

A 2U that supports a standard PSU?!?

A 3U I can see, and 4U's are everywhere (BUT THEY'RE HUGE!!) but I'd be VERY interested in a 2U that took a standard PSU.

Do tell.... :)
