Personally I don't mind most of the time when a new post is made to an old thread if it is relevant.

But I was wondering, about how old does a thread need to be, or vs how relevant or helpful a new post is to it, for it to be considered necroposting or "uncool necroposting" or not?

Also wondering, if someone were to revive a huge amount of supposedly dead necrothreads would they be considered to be some type of "necromancer"?

It is decided on a case by case basis. There are not hard rules around this. Necro is fine if it is on topic and a topic worth reviving.

(28) Thread NECRO-ING is not allowed unless specific to the old thread and necessary. Mods will determine what is necro-ing and what is not.

I was just trying to get a better idea about it before risking annoying anyone (and asking mods before every such post seems equally dorky/annoying). Intuitively it does makes sense for it to be ok longer when a forum is less active.

You didn't answer my question about the necromancer.
