NEC Multisync LCD3090W-BK-SV

Hi,

Does anyone have the NEC Multisync LCD3090W-BK-SV (the 3090wqxi bundled with spectraview ii calibration)?

If so, can you tell me exactly what it says on the top right hand corner (front) of the monitor? The reason I ask is because I bought the 3090wqxi and just wanted to know if physically (model name at least), it is the same other than spectraview. Pictures would be even better

If I remeber right, the Spectraview series is hand picked for uniformity and color quality/accuracy, there is no difference in the monitor itself.

Wow really?? If that's the case, I'm going to cancel my order and order the "SV" series instead. Are you sure about his, or is it just a vague recall of a memory? It would be nice to get some confirmation from someone else...

In the EU, it was reported that the Spectraview monitors were handpicked for quality; they also used to have special firmware, but that shouldn't be the case anymore. Those models sold at a 50-100% premium over the normal models, which may have been the result of that process, or may simply have been the source of the rumor.

In the US they are just bundled with the colorimeter, hood and software, nothing more.

In any case, if you plan on calibrating it and using it for color critical work, it worth the extra since the software is made for the monitor.

After some more "research" it seems clear that spectraview monitors in other countries (outside the USA) are indeed hand-picked (the specs on the australian website for spectraview monitors quote a higher adobe rgb value). This comes at a price... the cost of the spectraview monitors is over twice as high as the normal monitor!!!!!!

However, the ones in the U.S. seem to be normal monitors just bundled with spectraview ii. This may explain the marginal price difference compared to spectraview monitors in australia being over double the price or "normal" monitors. I also just got this from NEC USA:

You are correct, the only difference is the bundled Spectraview kit. they are the exact same model monitor
You save $50 buying it bundled vs individually."
