at my work a teacher has an LCD1765 and said she walked across the room to turn on her monitor when she reached for the power button on the side of the thing , a big ol' juicy static spark shot out and now her monitor wont turn on ...
she brought it to me and I plugged it in (has a laptop looking type plug in deal) and a little green led power lite came on for a split second on the monitor than it went off.
Green led on little power pack plug in come on and stays on tho
what I was wondering is , is if it was possible that maybe she just zapped the power button as its an electronic type switch...?
has anybody had any experience with these (fixing them that is)
seems like a nice 17" lcd display , and she being a teacher , doesnt make a whole lot of moola so was trying to find a cheap fix for her if at all possible.
