NEC EA244WMi Backlight Bleed

I've been using my NEC EA244WMi for about a month now and recently noticed some fairly annoying backlight bleed. The parts that are most noticeable are the top middle and the bottom left. The bottom right in the pic is not that bad in real life. Should I RMA this? The only reason I am asking is because I don't really know if this is that bad for IPS monitors.

Is that glow or bleed? Does it change based on angle/distance from monitor?

Whatever it is, it does look sort of annoying. But if glow, a replacement won't fix it.

Sorry for the noob question, but what is the difference between glow and bleed? It does change from different angles and distance, yes.
 
IPS glow is glow that appears at the corners or sides of an IPS panel and changes based on angle and distance. So if you tilt your head some, the side or corner of the screen may glow. Yet if you tilt it another way, that same area won't have any glow. Sometimes the corner of a screen may have a bit of glow even viewing straight on, depending on distance.

Bleed will appear the same regardless of angle.

Almost all IPS models have glow, besides those that have an A-TW polarizer (not many have this). Some monitors may have a bit less glow than others though, and I think older panels (S-IPS) had more of a purple glow rather than white ... which personally sounds better to me. VAs usually don't have any glow issues, but they have there own little oddities.

For your monitor, assuming it's all glow, I suggest lowering your brightness some. It may help a bit.

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately I think it is pretty much all glow aside from the little bit on the top of the screen which really isn't that noticeable. I will have to lower the brightness a bit when I get home and see if that helps with the glow.
