hopefully this helps if anyone thats having the same problem as i did. ugh...although its picture perfect it was a fucking headache to get it to work properly to my receiver to get HDMI audio from my PC and PS3.

Equipment
Pioneer VSX-519V-K HDMI Repeating Receiver
Playstation 3 Slim
PC with HD4850 with HDMI Audio

Issue 1 - Receiver not detecting my HD4850 HDMI's audio....
Connection - HD4850 HDMI --> Pioneer Receiver --> DVI-HDMI Nec LCD
Problem - This monitor has some really fucked up EDID causing it to BLOCK my receiver and only let my PC see this screen only :|
Solution Had to connect only my Pioneer receiver and use a VGA monitor then use moninfo to extract the pioneers EDID info and use it as display drivers so my PC would SEE my pioneer FIRST. then reconnected the NEC and it worked...

Issue 2 PS3 not detecting my receiver cause this god damn NEC EDID UGHHH.
Solution tried for months..frustrated was going to sell this NEC but bought a display port to hdmi adapter and it worked...looks like its the dvi port thats fucked up

GOD THIS SCREEN IS A HEAD ACHE FFFFFFFFFFUUUUU

Assuming you've covered all bases and are confident in your diagnosis...it's up to you how you want to handle it but a product like one of these could save the whole thing for you:

I almost wonder if there's a setting on that NEC monitor that could help you. My NEC 2490wuxi has an "advanced" menu or a "service" menu. Does yours?

To open Advanced menu, you switch the 2490 off. Then you press and hold Input button and press Power button.
The first page (Tag) of Advanced menu appears.

^^ That's how it's done on my 2490wuxi. I wonder if it would be the same for you if you haven't already done it. Maybe there's some silly setting you're missing somewhere. It's worth a shot. :)
