I just saw this LCD on new egg... i know the 20" version of it was a IPS panel... looking at the manual PDF it says TFT - TN ... does this mean its a TN panel? and why would it be a TN panel if the 20 inch is the IPS one?

Because the consumer world is a TN world. IPS panels just confuse them. That plus LG-Phillips, the source of the 20WMGX panel, don't make IPS in 22" or even 20" anymore. It sucks. We should start a petition.

sad day... guess im getting the NEC 2470WNX... it might not be a IPS but it sure as hell isnt a TN... blah!

Yeah, it is sad. But another decade from now when you're surfing on your 72" 19,200 X 12,000 pixel, 1000% aRGB, 1 nanosecond GTG, 300 degree, 1 micron thick, fold-able, disposable $10.00 laser screen, you'll look at this post and laugh.

It's a TN panel. The LCD19WMGX, LCD22WMGX, and LCD24WMCX are all TN panels. The 19 and 22 have the glossy Opticlear coating, just like the 20WMGX2, and the 24 has a matte coating, like the LCD2470WNX.
