Just want to run through my selection before buying a bunch of non-returnables.

* Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
* Noctua NH-C14 CPU Cooler

* Asus Z170I PRO GAMING Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard
OR
* Asus MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard
* G.Skill Aegis 16GB (1 x 16GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

* Silverstone 600W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply
* Asus GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card (Blower style)

* Sony BC-5640H-01 Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer

Cooling:
- PSU mounted to bring in its own air air exhaust out the top.
- NH-C14 should JUUUUUST fit and source air directly from the side.
- Fan on bottom running ~900RPM to help source air from the bottom to the GFX cards blower.
- SSD snuggled in somewhere. Doesn't really need any cooling anyways.

Any potential issues?

I have a 6700K on the Asus Maximus VIII Impact and I can say its a good combo. The mobo is really nice but it is kinda pricey but if you want quality and lots of features its a great choice. I'm not using a C14 so couldn't say how the fit is. I went with a 90mm AIO unit from Asetek. Basically when it comes to these Z1701 mitx mobos you pick one that has the features you want and go with it. They all have some pros and cons. Mainly its about features. If you want Wifi do be careful and research that closely because some have reported wifi issues. That's why I went with the Maximus. It's wifi is rock solid. Plus it has that extra fan support.

How are your temperatures with a small AIO on the K unit? Most seem to reccomend the full size rad. Wich way do you have the fan on the rad?

The main M1 thread had a lot of people saying the K units 91W load was pushing the case design.

I like the Maximus for such robust power delivery but its a $100 feature. I have gigabit ethernet all over my house so wifi doesn't mater to me at all.

Thanks!

I just want to comment that I am going through a similar build and just ordered the Ncase M1 last night.

I am leaning towards the 6700K with Asus Z170I rather than the Maximus VII because I can't justify the cost for the additional features of the Maximus.
Additionally, I read a ton of reviews on HSF combinations and my choice is currently to go with the Noctua NH-9US.
I don't see any major issues based on your list and my research. I noticed many builds that are already using the NH-C14, you don't want the S version. There is a build on pcparts selector that metnions he had to use the non S version for fitment. Try googling: Skylake NCASE M1 / i7-6700k / 980 Ti
