yea installing a northbridge chipset heatsink and the brackets aren't compatible with my mobo but i got some thermal adhesive (Arctic silver o course), and was wondering what people though about it. I hear that this stuff is semi-permanent and since im not sure about how well the heatsink will work im wondering if anyone could just give me some advice that would be great
 
flip chips(ex: the i875) dont like the twisting action involved with removing a heat sink, consider it permanent or mount it this way:
 
and what about the actual installation, im not sure where exactly to apply the adhesive on the HS, so if anyone had any diagrams that would be great :D
 
i suggested not using adhesive, bend up a wire fan grill like i did, just make sure its only barely tight enough to hold it snug, too tight and you rip the loops out of the mobo
 
oh i see what you did now :p , ill have to see what i can find, i think i have an extra grill from one of my sivlerstone fans, will take a bit of work to bend it right though, as for the AS question, i have both AS5 and some AS ceramique, when im mounting the HS how much should I use?
