Nasty virus...???

Hmm... i think i got a nasty virus tonight. Downloaded a bad file on accident(clicked the wrong f(*&(King file), lost a drive.... fortunately, a large amount of it was backed up, but i still lost a good 70 gig worth of data.

It made the drives (3 partitions) unseeable by windows, and added 600 gig drive on the end??? i dont understand either, but hey, here we are.

Tried iolo Search and recover and PC inspector file recovery. No avail, drive seems completely gone... the wierd thing, is the name of the drive now...! - WDC WD901JC-10ETA0! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

anyone seen this before? could the drive have just failed in a really specactular fashion?

looks like a Western Digital Corporation model designation

it would be very unusual that it would be able to overwrite all the data beyond recovery

offhand, what was the contents of the drive

It was media and work. I had backed up the work recently, i only lost about 3 hours, which is fine
