NAS wont login?

I am having an issue logging into my NAS drive for some
reason Vista keeps putting the computer name in front of
the user name like:

Computername/Username

This is in turn rejecting my logging into my nas. It does
not happen with my imac mapped drives. I have tryed the
logon using a different username and it just wont work.

I have tryed using this:

nasname\username

and that will not work either

Vista (actually Windows in general) will try to put a resource name (computer name, domain name, or web site name for eample) in front of the user name if the remote device rejects the initial authentication attempt. Generally, for things like NAS's you can just pull the computer name out and enter only the user name and password for the NAS box.

I presume you're using SMB/CIFS for your IMac too? If not, make sure SMB/CIFS is enabled on the NAS...

What kind of NAS is it?
