I'm looking to increase my media server hard drive capacity as I keep running low on my 3tb. Are NAS drives ok to use in a desktop computer for storing movies and shows to stream to a living room tv?

Specifically This drive

I have my eyes on one for $137 less then the amazon price.

Yes, NAS drives are fine in a regular PC, typically they are designed more for long term storage, higher heat thresholds, have certain features helpful in raid situations. That said, I've had really bad luck with Seagate in the past, and tend to avoid them. But this is a new generation of drive, and hasn't really been around long to know for sure if Seagate has gotten past that. I would consider running raid 1 if you can to make sure it is backed up.

My current 3tb is Seagate. The one I'm looking at is an Enterprise drive so is designed for reliability and has a 5yr warranty. Not so worried on if it dies. I'll just download everything again. TWC 200Meg and no cap. So it isn't too big of a deal for me to get everything again.
