I finally set up my ZFS server, which was much less painful than I expected. I think the worst part was trying to find all the hardware. I only have eight drives so far; I will be adding 7 more to a separate pool once I get the data off my UnRaid box. First pool will be ZFS2 with 2 spares.
My problem is that I can't get napp-it to set up an encrypted pool, the screen comes back with a prompt to enter the passphrase, but there does not appear to be a place to key it. After about 60 seconds the pool list comes up and my new pool is not listed. If I set up a regular pool it all works fine. Any clue what the magic step might be?
BTW my benchmarks were around 500 MB/s, which is OK for a non mirrored setup, considering UnRaid was lucky to see 50 MB/s.
