Hi BOINC users,

It has been a while since I have given any news related to this project. Don't worry the project is not dead despite not having sent any jobs in the last couple of months.

We were very busy with some other important tasks. One of them was the publication of the method FlexAID you all have been running on your own machines for years. Your precious work has been rewarded as the method has been published in the peer-reviewed and high-quality Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling. For more information, please refer to http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acs.jcim.5b00078
The article will be made open-access but I don't think the current version on the website is.
As a matter of fact, here is another article we recently published in which many BOINC users contributed to: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/jm5015633

We made sure to acknowledge, in the papers themselves, the work of all BOINC users who contributed to our project since the beginning. Your work has definitely allowed us to make our method much more accurate than we had hoped, and has helped advancing the field of drug discovery.

As for myself, I am currently in the process of writing my thesis. However, FlexAID still remains in development as another student (Louis-Philippe Morency) is taking over the project. LP will require your help in the upcoming months as to increase the performance of our method even more.

I hope many of you will comeback to contribute to the work of our group again :)

Still no updates on this one. It is a shame as I like that project

Work appears to be returning. Also, a post at BOINCStats confirms new life.

Hi,

I'm in charge of the BOINC project NRG@Home or Najmanovich Research Group. In the past months, we migrated the server on new hardware and we were developing new features in the software used for this project (FlexAID).

The project is not dead nor is it a zombie server. There si currently work being computed at this moment for this project. Over the next months, there will be a massive increase in the work we will be submitting on this project.

As the project is not retired, how can I have the Najmanovich Research Group stats updated in here ?

A bit more info:

Hi Charlie !

In the past few weeks, you have seen batches of job with few docking experiments. Most of them were used for benchmarking purposes for FlexAID itself during the development process (FlexAID is back in development and we are adding several new features to the methods to enhance its accuracy and performances).

However, there is also new batches that were launched over the last week and this is a total new project at the Najmanovich Research Group. This new project uses FlexAID with the objective to identify the targets of possible adverse effects of existing drugs as well as finding new targets to repurpose these drugs. I will work to update the main page in order to let you know more precisely what your computer is processing as the precise proteins targeted in these experiments will vary greatly over time.

Thanks for your patience,

P.S. No, the project is not dead and will not die during the years to come. FlexAID has a lot of growth ahead. Stay tuned :)

Unfortunately, they do not currently allow new accounts to be created, so I cannot join this project at this time. Since I do not have an account there, I cannot post in their forums to ask about this... Could you please do so on my behalf, Gilthanis?

Looks like more work went out today. However, only a few. Not sure what the hold up is though.

It doesn't appear I've received any WU's from this project to date, despite my work share for this project being set to 1000.

They kind of did this before the project went down for a long period. They came to the forums asking for more users to help them out and then work was scarce and the project had a bunch of upgrades and hiccups. I honestly don't know the hang up this time, but I'm kinda losing faith in this group.

I just got a bunch of WU's on several of my machines. Each WU is only taking 6-8 minutes to complete.
