Hey, so migrating to Nagios3 and Ubuntu (previously solaris with nagios 2)

Did the apt-get install nagios3 and got all the packages, got everything setup with our config files, only not able to get a few of my commands to work. check_tcp

Failure with hardware ssl
./check_tcp -w 0.8 -c 2.0 -H {IP} -S -p 443 -D 30 -v
Using service TCP
Port: 443
flags: 0x1f
CRITICAL - Cannot make SSL connection
140368711276192:error:140943FC:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert bad record mac:s3_pkt.c:1248:SSL alert number 20

Success with another server (not in the same network) using apache ssl
./check_tcp -w 0.8 -c 2.0 -H {IP} -S -p 443 -D 30 -v
Using service TCP
Port: 443
flags: 0x1f
OK - Certificate will expire on 10/17/2013 02:38.
server_expect_count: 0
TCP OK - 0.229 second response time on port 443|time=0.229339s;0.800000;2.000000;0.000000;10.000000

The only thing I have found so far is on the solaris system it is running 1.4.11 and on ubunutu its 1.4.15 however compiling from scratch on ubunutu did not change anything.

Anyone have a clue on what could be causing this?
