I used the search feature , but was unable to find this information. I am sorry if this has been posted elsewhere.

Nvidia's release of the N80 Core is right around the corner. The only cards I have heard about launching at first is the 8800GTX and the GTS. Is there any reports on if a quad sli version of the N80 card will be released ala 8800GTX2 ? Or is the 7950 GX2 going to be the only quad sli card for a while ?

I don't know for sure, but I don't see any reason why there wouldn't.

It's G80, btw.

I seriously doubt it, the cooling solution is a dual slot even for the gt(s) and the pcb is already 11 inches. If they'd link 2 cards together the card would have to be seriously underclocked and the pcb stretched even more for the link between them. People would just bitch and moan if they'd do that.
Omg its too long, omg its clocked at only 400mhz, omg its idling at 100c, omg omg omg...

Well...we can cross our fingers and hope they refine the technology to shrink it etc...then we'll see more quad :)

I imagine it will become possible after the die shrink. Look for it around March '07 just in time to steal the R600's thunder.
You might have a problem finding the 2kW power supply you'll need, though. :p
