please pardon my uber n00bness to wc - but I was wondering if it's common practice to use some silicone adhesive on the water block barbs before putting the tubing one for the first time? Does this make a big difference? I have tygon (3603 - the good stuff) tubing for my TDX --> maze4 -- flow meter --> maze4 run... the rest will be the stuff that comes with the koolance... Anyways, does the silicone just make mess when you take it apart? or is it good to use? I am worried about leaks... so I was going to get some at the local hardware store before sealing all the tubing up... should I?
Also, I was planning on just using zip ties to fasten the tubing around the barbs... I used zip ties on my old wet/dry pump from my reef keeping days and it seemed to work well... maybe a couple of them? The reasoning here was those tube clamps looked a bit large and I will not have a lot of space around my gpu blocks... do the real clamps make a better fit for reals? I was thinking about just using two small zip ties and getting them on there firm, and using that silicon adhesive... am I over doing this or does that seem like a sane plan?
