somebody explain it, Without flaming me too bad, ok i get alomst everything else about a VC. But this......
MY.....

TI 4200 4x2 pipes
5900xt 8x1
6800GT 16x1
I understand 4 pixel pipes, 8 and 16, but why is the 4200 4x2? And what the difference between x2 and x1?

The first number denotes the number of pixel pipelines- that is, the number of pixels your card can draw per clock cycle. IIRC, the second number (the x2/x1) is the number of texturing units- the number of textures your card can apply per pixel per clock cycle. That means that a 16x1 has more raw pixel-pushing power than an 8x2, but the 8x2 would probably fare better in multitexturing scenarios (or in this case, 8x1 vs 4x2). I am not 100% sure of the texture units, though.
