n00b question about LCD + Glare

Ok, well, I have a CRT monitor and a normal 20" cheap TV, and it's barely possible to watch a movie in the day time on the TV, and it's annoying to go on the computer, because they both get glare, the TV mostly. If sometime I picked up an LCD TV and an LCD monitor, does this elminate glare, or are they just as bad?
 
There's still glare on LCD screens but it's not the same as a glossy TV screen. Most desktop LCDs have a coating on them that diffuses glare so it can still wash out colors on the screen but you don't get the reflections that you have with a glossy screen.
