ok i have installed mythbuntu, this is the first time using linux and i have searched every where for this,
i have 3 hard drives in my computer 1 has linux and the other 2 have a bunch of movies that is on a ntfs hard drive. now how can i get linux to recognize the 2 drives, so i need linux to permanently recognize these 2 drives.

is it possible to get sound through hdmi with linux.

and how do i fine tune the video play back for 1080p mkv movies

thanks, so far im liking mythbuntu over windows, i really love mediaportal but i hate how much resources takes and all im doing is playing movies. linux seems so much lighter on the resources

This should get you going on auto-mounting your partitions. Lots of stuff available via google. Give this search a try: ubuntu automount ntfs

good luck!

In linux you can take advantage of VDPAU with nvidia. A g84 or higher core is sufficient. It will do HDMI audio as well, considering you have the proper chipset motherboard like a 8200/8300/9300/9400. When you install linux, you'll need to switch the playback device to HDMI, just as you would under Windows. Using the Asus M3N78-EM board, it looks like this:
